Description: CopenHill, or Amager Bakke, is a pioneering waste-to-energy plant in
Copenhagen, Denmark, designed by BIG | Bjarke Ingels Group. Opened in 2017, it burns
440,000 tons of waste annually, producing electricity and district heating for 150,000
homes. Its unique, sustainable design features a 9,000 m2 year-round artificial ski slope,
hiking trails, a climbing wall, and a rooftop bar on the sloping roof.
